The long-awaited Kinam Attar v3, Green Kyara, is finally here!
If you loved Kinam Attar and Khmer Kinam (aka Kinam Attar v2), you know this is going to be awesome.
The first rendition mimiced Brunei kinam, the second Cambodian kinam.
Boasting the highly celebrated Vietnan Special K as well as a small portion of our future-release Vietnamese oud King K Nam, this installment is the pinnacle of the Kinam Attar series. Ask any Kinam Sifu or Kyara Master, and they will tell you, Vietnamese kinam/kyara stands head and shoulders above all others.
If you tried our Kyara To Byakudan, just mentally eliminate the sandalwood, and you get Green Kyara.
The paradox – and something I expected even before it’s release – with KtB was that folks who were craving a sandalwood-heavy parfum thought it smelled too kinamic, and those who had hoped it would be kinam-heavy found it to be a sandalwood bomb. It was no surprise to me because this is quite common with Japanese incense as well; only when you approach high end Japanese kyara-sandalwood blends with an open mind do you get to appreciate the perfect balance.
Having said that, if you were one of those who wished to smell the kyara facet as a standalone parfum, you have reason to rejoice.
Because that is exactly what Green Kyara is. Minus the smokiness that was cranked up in Khmer Kinam and Kyara To Byakudan. Here it’s closer to Kinam Attar v1; silver vapor akin to the fumes rising from a gently heated kyara wood chip.
Cooling menthol, lactonic vanilla-sweetened cooked fatty milk, sweet spices, dry tea leaf and Chinese herbs, bittersweet resinous oudiness. Kyaralicious perfection.
